DYOT can perform multiple types of test measurements both independently and simultaneously.
Horsepower / Torque
Horsepower is torque applied at a speed (ie. 200-foot pounds at 5000 rpm). We use strain gauges that measure exactly how much torque is going through a shaft in live field conditions.
Examples:
- Independent wheel torque
- Propellor shaft torque
- Steering shaft
- Sway bar stiffness
Force
Force is energy imparted in a linear motion. Using strain gauges and load cells, we can very accurately and precisely measure the force on your product.
Examples:
- Force on suspension components
- Force on engine mounts
- Force applied to brake pedal
Acceleration / G-force
Acceleration is the change in speed over a change in time. Using multi-axis accelerometers, we can determine the acceleration forces on your product.
Examples:
- Lateral G-force of tire grip when cornering
- Tire grip G-forces under acceleration and braking
Distance
Distance is the measurement of the span between two parts. We can employ lasers, string potentiometers or displacement transducers to determine how your product changes length in the field under the load.
Examples:
- Suspension travel over various terrain
- Frame bending
Temperature
The measurement of how hot or cold your parts are during use. We use multiple thermocouples to measure single points of temperature or thermal imaging to show a live range of temperature on your product.
Examples:
- Engine bay temp
- Heat shield efficiency
- Catalyst temperature
